Beyonce three statements

I think that Beyonce is a star. This is evident in the music video from the use cross cutting. The video cuts to several scenes happening at different places, including a car park,a hall and a house .However,Beyonce is always present and at the centre of attention, which indicates that she is important . of We also know that she has a large global following. The producers have done this to boost beyonces star power. This relates to Andrew Goodwins theory of music videos,as the video is promoting Beyonces image,to meet the demands of the record label.

Dizee Rascal

Look at how Goodwin's theory applies to Dizzee Rascals Dream? In Dizzee Rascals Dream sound techniques are used to show us what Dizzee Rascals aspirations are.In the music video a soundtrack is playing, part of the chorus includes the line "if you don't have a dream, how are you gonna have a dream come true".Meanwhile in the video we can see Dizee Rascal and his puppet friends vandalising and stealing. This connotes that people that live in the hood should have more aspirations in life. Also,as we know Dizee rascal has been successful himself, therefore he may be trying to inspire others to be like him. This relates to Andrew Goodwins theory of music videos,as it shows a clear link between the music and the visuals. Costumes and body language make this a typical rap video. In the video the youth puppets can be seen wearing hoodies. This type of clothing is what we expect to see on the "street",therefore, making it appropriate for the hip-hop genre. Straight Outta Compton Discuss the ways in which media products are produced and distributed to the audience in Straight Outta Compton. You could argue Straight Outta Compton is a hollywood blockbuster film due to its high production budget.Overall,it cost an estimated $50 million to produce. This was possible because the film was made by a conglomerate,Universal studios. Universal pictures has a co-production distribution deal with Legendary pictures, meaning that NBC Universal used vertical integration to produce and distribute the film. This was a high concept film, because it was based on pre-existing material the rap group N.W.A whom are already well known. Therefore, this ensured the film was a success as there was already a global fan base. Gender Norms

In this advertisement the idea that women need to be skinny is put forward. The image shows a male figure wearing a suit looking down into a cake. The cake has a hole in it which looks like the outline of a body.Underneath the image is the question "Need to lose a little weight before your wedding?".This suggests that the cake in the image represents the missing bride. This supports Van Zoonen's interpretation that women are seen as objects in society.Cakes are typically large and viewed as unhealthy and "fattening".Relating this to women, the advert inferrs that women do not want to look like a cake on their wedding day. The advertisers have re-inforced this gender norm innorder to promote a "slim fast"energy drink which can is shown in the bottom right. In this advertisement the idea that men need to be brave is portrayed. This is clear from the image, showing a man hanging off a tall structure. One of his hands can be seen barely gripping onto the skyscr...

Find examples from your historical magazine (Woman’s Realm) that support (or challenge) the view that variety, creativity and quality are limited. 2-3 examples from the cover to support/challenge this idea The cover lines/feature articles used on the Woman's Realm cover are hows that magazine's in the 1960's lacked variety and creativity. Some of the feature articles and cover lines include a "treasury of homemaking" and "exciting new period of romance".These are all stereotypical female interests. This shows a lack of creativity,as this magazine doesn't challenge these ideologies and promote individuality. This relates to Stuart Hall's theory that stereotyping reduces people to a few simple characteristics. On the other hand, the masthead completely contradicts this point. The masthead is Woman's Realm, with the word Realm written in larger, bolder font. The word realm means kingdom or land, therefore, the magazine suggests that woman run t...

Fergusons theory

Ferguson's ideas about representation are present in this magazine.A POV shot is used, showing someone holding sunsational sultanas products on a silver plate, and in the background we can see a lady riding a wave.Upon further inspection,we can see that this lady is also holding a silver plate. This camera shot infers that the cover model is holding the objects we see at the front of the camera. The cover model is the aspirational figure. She comes across as an aspirational women because she effortlessly surfs the waves whilst still looking beatiful. In addition, the ambient lighting further supports this. The sun is shining down on this lady, which re-iterates how her appearance makes her stand out.The magazine suggests that the reader can achieve her look through Australian Sultanas,as they are said to "give the best results".
