Lighting-This tends to be low key/dark,which assists in creating an unsettling mood Props-Typical crime drama props include police tape,bright torches and guns etc. Setting-Crime dramas tend to be set in big cities,as they tend to be seen as more dangerous given that they're is a greater population Narrative-plot usually revolves around an unsolved mystery Editing techniques-Cross cutting is often seen to show the two characters who are plotting against each other e.g police vs criminal. Camera techniques-Close ups are often used to draw emotion,and high/low angle shots are sometimes used to showcase vunerability/power. Sound-Diagetic sound is commonly used to project the  noise of a bustling city or the eery silence of a crime. Binary opposites-These are often created through two characters,one who is good and the other who is evil.

In Dizzee Rascals Dream sound techniques are used to show us what Dizzee Rascals aspirations are.In the music video a soundtrack is playing,part of the chorus includes the line "if you don't have a dream,how are you gonna have a dream come true".Meanwhile in the video we can see Dizee Rascal and his puppet friends vandalising and stealing.This connotes that people that live in the hood should have more aspirations in life.Also,as we know Dizee rascal has been successful himself,therefore he may be trying to inspire others to be like him.This relates to Andrew Goodwins theory of music videos,as it shows a clear link between the music and the visuals. Costumes and body language make this a typical rap video.In the video the youth puppets can be seen wearing hoodies.This type of clothing is what we expect to see on the "street",therefore,making it appropriate for the hip-hop genre.
