Find examples from your historical magazine (Woman’s Realm) that support (or challenge) the view that variety, creativity and quality are limited. 2-3 examples from the cover to support/challenge this idea The cover lines/feature articles used on the Woman's Realm cover are hows that magazine's in the 1960's lacked variety and creativity.Some of the feature articles and cover lines include a "treasury of homemaking" and "exciting new period of romance".These are all stereotypical female interests.This shows a lack of creativity,as this magazine doesn't challenge these ideologies and promote individuality.This relates to Stuart Hall's theory that stereotyping reduces people to a few simple characteristics. Fergusons theory

Ferguson's ideas about representation are present in this magazine.A POV shot is used,showing someone holding sunsational sultanas products on a silver plate,and in the background we can see a lady riding a wave.Upon further inspection,we can see that this lady is also holding a silver plate.This camera shot infers that the cover model is holding the objects we see at the front of the camera.The cover model is the aspirational figure.She comes across as an aspirational women because she effortlessly surfs the waves whilst still looking beatiful.In addition,the ambient lighting further supports this.The sun is shining down on this lady,which re-iterates how her appearance makes her stand out.The magazine suggests that the reader can achieve her look through Australian Sultanas,as they are said to "give the best results".

How are representations of young kurdish women constructed?
